In 2009, Panna’s tiger population was wiped out due to poaching, leaving the park without a single tiger. However, a successful reintroduction program brought tigers back, and today, Panna is a thriving tiger habitat once again.

The Ken River, flowing through the park, is home to two unique crocodile species—the long-snouted gharial and the marsh-dwelling mugger crocodile, offering visitors a rare chance to see them in their natural habitat.
